Lily Valibaba-Sullivan
Hello,

My name is Lily Valibaba-Sullivan. I have a Master's in Education with a focus on Learning Systems Technology (Instructional Design). I completed my undergraduate bachelor's degree coursework in Anthropology, which is the study of people. I studied learning theories in both my bachelor's and my master's programs as well as psychology, cognition, and evolution. These two degrees provide me with a unique perspective on human learning and how we can be taught, store, and retrieve information.

I currently work as CEO of my instructional design consulting firm, Vali-Valley, LLC. Owning my own firm has allowed me to take on meaningful design projects to further assist companies in expanding their education through innovative learning solutions. I also serve as Director of the non-profit, C5 which provides social events for tweens and teens with disabilities. I am an Adjunct Professor at University of Arkansas at Little Rock teaching courses in Instructional Design.
In my most previous position as Assistant Director for the TeleSANE Program at UAMS-Institute for Digital Health & Innovation, I continually practiced my curriculum development skills to design multi-mode, multi-pathway- from full courses to infographics, and everything else in-between. I was afforded the ability to create education on sexual assault Medical-Forensic Examinations and generalized information about sexual assault. I also provided insight into Arkansas's sexual assault statistics as well as, nationwide information. The work I did through TeleSANE was both gratifying and leaves a permanent mark on how sexual assault is handled within the medical community.
On a professional level, learners are at the forefront of each of my instructional design projects. My designs are a culmination of my own struggles, ideas, and thoughts on technology, learning environments, teaching, and any combination of the three. Finding new technology and applications to guide students into the best learning scenarios possible is my top priority. I use various types of learning tools and mechanisms to explore a multitude of topics.
Creating and providing content for all learners, including those with disabilities, with everything they need to succeed in their educational journey is of the utmost importance. I practice this philosophy by utilizing pedagogical and andragogical learning theories, as well as Universal Design for Learning best practices, to develop a well designed course.

I am continuing to expand my knowledge base by exploring the use of AI in course creation, content/material creation, storyboarding, lesson planning, evaluation creation, and much more. AI has been branded as the future in education (and many other fields) but, I am choosing to explore it's use in an experimental fashion to gather data on it's effectiveness and learning outcomes as well as, perception data from subject matter experts and the learners who participate in the courses constructed using AI components.
I am spirited about the courses and curriculum I design for my own courses, the clinician's who utilize the materials, the learners who engage with the coursework, and for the faculty I support. I am constantly contemplating how to enhance each and every project I undertake. I am beyond proud of the work I have done with the TeleSANE Program, French Forensics, TXFNE, UALR, and many others. I enjoy teaching on any level to any level learner. I am an intersectional feminist and believe equal rights and equity are incredibly important and do my part by creating education for all to use.
